PILOT 1 (pt.2): Class of 2020Vision

Over the summer of 2020 we selected 6 eligible graduate designers from the 15 that showcased their final year collections at the Class Of 2020Vision’ graduate show at the old Central Saint Martins building in Holborn, east London.

We chose those designers that we felt would naturally be a good fit for our 2020Vision pilot program.

Along with some key industry partners, such as designer concept store LN-CC, the Centre for Sustainable Fashion, Plus Samples, the RCA and Sheridans Law, we aimed to test important system change by working with these young designers to create their business, brand and inaugural commercial collections entirely outside of the traditional fashion system.

Undertaken from an amazing workspace in Hackney Wick, kindly donated to us by The Trampery, we used this pilot to test and inform our initial ideas and thinking around various tools that could aid young start up designers on their journey to market. As such, it was during this pilot that we developed the foundations of our B2B solutions.

This phase of research mostly focused on the xyz.exchange software, but also explored and considered the fundamentals of the xyz.id protocol.
